Now in its third season, A Little Shakespeare is back to engage young audiences with the work of the Bard. When Pericles uncovers the King’s dark secret, he is forced to flee his Kingdom and navigate the roaring sea. An all-female, ensemble cast of high school students will perform a professionally produced 70-minute version of Shakespeare’s thrilling and epic tale of adventure, shipwreck, and romance, for audiences ages 9 and up.

 
Tickets: $20 for Adults & $15 for Children 12 and Under
 
Student Matinees: $10 Tickets are available for School Groups on December 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 at 10:30am.

Kaylee DeFreitas (from Howell High School / FPAC)

Antiochus / Thaisa

Kaylee DeFreitas (Antiochus / Thaisa) is honored to be returning to Two River Theater this year. Last year she was featured in their production of Little Shakes: A Midsummer Night's Dream as Egeus. Other roles include Sampson and First Guard in Romeo and Juliet, and Roxie Hart in Chicago. This summer she was lucky to be able to study at Shakespeare's Globe in London and work on her craft. Sophia Jackman (from Ranney School)

Pericles

Sophia Jackman (Pericles) is very excited to return to Two River Theater’s stage after her last performance as Duke Frederick in A Little Shakespeare: As You Like It. She also appeared in several performances at the Ranney School, including The Tempest as Prospera, Fiorello! as Mitzi Travers, and Twelfth Night as Feste. She continues to study performance techniques at the Actors Playground School of Theatre and enjoys playing the violin and guitar. Sophia would like to thank Jason, Kate, and the amazing cast and crew of Little Shakes: Pericles for all their work and support and her family for supporting her artistic endeavors.

Antiochus’ Daughter / Marina

Isabel Wallace (Antiochus’ Daughter / Marina) is ecstatic to return to the Two River Theater’s A Little Shakespeare family after performing in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Snug) and As You Like It (Adam). Favorite credits include Melissa Arctic at TRT (Time), Release Point at NJRep (Kayla), Radium Girls (Katherine Wiley) and The Young and Fair (Nancy Gear). Isabel is a junior at Biotechnology High School, and she is honored to be one of Two River Theater’s 2015/16 Metro Scholars. When not performing, you can find her in the tissue culture lab or at Stagedoor Manor in the summers. Isabel would like to thank her parents for all the support in pursuing her dreams and Jason, Kate, and Adam for this amazing opportunity!

Christianah Akinsanmi (Helicanus / Lychorida / Pander) is delighted to be working with the Two River Theater. She is back on stage after being enrolled into Howell High School's Performing Arts Program/FPAC for a year. Christianah has previously done shows such as The Wizard of Oz, Annie, and Cinderella. She is overjoyed to take part in this production.

Dionyza

Emma Mueller (Dionyza) is thrilled to be taking part in her second A Little Shakespeare production and is especially excited to work with the fantastic cast and crew. She has been performing since she came out of the womb, whether it be dancing, acting, or singing with her guitar. Last year she was a Metro Scholar and played the role of Snout in Two River Theater's Little Shakes: A Midsummer Night's Dream. Over the summer, Emma studied voice and acting at UCLA and later this year she will be directing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at Biotechnology High School. Emma plans to continue her theater education in college next year, destination unknown.

Leonine /Lysimachus

Christina Ruivivar (Leonine /Lysimachus) is thrilled to be back at Two River Theater after playing Puck in A Little Shakespeare: A Midsummer Night’s Dream last year. She is a senior acting major at Howell High School’s Fine and Performing Arts Center. Other favorite past credits: Marcy Park in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Meg March in Little Women. Simonides / Bawd / Cerimon

Dixie O’Connell (Simonides / Bawd / Cerimon) is so excited to be performing at Two River Theater for the first time. Dixie is a sophomore and drama major at Red Bank Regional High School. She has been taking classes at Actors Playground School of Theatre since 2008. Favorite credits include Emily in Bang Bang You're Dead at NYC Fringe festival, Alice in Alice? at Appel Farm Arts Camp, and Hero in Much Ado About Nothing at Red Bank Regional. Dixie played Sandy in the NYU student film The Exploration of Cole as Led by the Prepubescent Sandy. The film later went on to The Cannes film festival. She would like to thank the directors and staff at Two River for giving her this opportunity and for everything they do.

Jason McDowell-Green (Adaptor / Director) is the Director of the Professional Training Program at the Williamstown Theatre Festival. Recent work has been seen with The Old Globe Theater, Roundabout Theatre Company, The Huntington Theater, The Guthrie Theater, Two River Theater, and the Atlantic Theatre School. He is an alumnus of The Acting Company where he toured for two years with productions of Romeo and Juliet and The Comedy of Errors. His production of Be The Dog (adapted from How We Are Hungry by Dave Eggers) played to sold-out audiences at the New York International Fringe Festival. His training comes from Boston University, the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, and A.C.T.

Sue Hawley (Costume Designer) Two River Theater design debut! Select design credit include Jesus Christ Super Star, White Christmas, The Music Man, Anything Goes, Ragtime, My Fair Lady, (Phoenix Productions), The Light in the Piazza, A Streetcar Named Desire (Perry Award nominee) (Villagers Theater), A Chorus Line (MSU) and Catch-22 (LLC). She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Production/Design) from Montclair State University.

Jessica Parks (Properties) has been the resident prop master and scenic designer for the New Jersey Repertory Company since 2003. Design and prop credits there include: The Seedbed, Closure, Dinner with the Boys, The M Spot, Butler, Angels & Ministers of Grace and Swimming at the Ritz. Other properties credits include: Macbeth, All My Sons and You Can’t Take It With You at Two River Theater, Pentecost at the Barrow Group NYC and Foreign Exchange at Playwright’s Theater of NJ.

Kat Rother (Stage Manager) is excited to be back at Two River Theater Company after stage managing A Little Shakespeare: A Midsummer Night’s Dream in the spring. Previous production stage management credits include Little Shop of Horrors (Sharon Playhouse), Merrily We Roll Along (Sharon Playhouse), My Fair Lady (Sharon Playhouse), and the touring production of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (Two Beans Productions/TheatreWorks, USA). Additonal credits include: Father Comes Home from The Wars (Parts 1, 2, &3) (PA- The Public Theatre), Pentecost (ASM- PTP/NYC) and Antigona (SM – Noche Flamenca).
