A Little Shakespeare introduces young audiences to the work of the famous playwright in a fresh new way. Geared towards ages 9 and up, high school students will perform a 75-minute version of Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor. This hilarious story includes everything we've come to expect from reality shows of today: fame, love, lies and a few big plot twists! A Little Shakespeare is presented as part of Two River's ongoing education programs, led by professional artists.
Mistress Margaret Page
Christianah Akinsanmi (Mistress Margaret Page) is honored to be performing with the Two River Theater again after having been a part of the Little Shakes performance of Pericles in their 2015/16 season. She has previously acted in The Diviners put on by Howell High School, and is currently enrolled in the Fine and Performing Arts Center (FPAC) offered at the school.
Michael Aron (Fenton) is delighted to be making his debut with Two River Theater. Some recent stage work of his includes Our Town with Country Gate Theater, Almost, Maine with Neptune High School and Rumors with Belvidere High School. He is currently a junior at Neptune High School where he is involved in their a cappella group, the Scarlet Sound. He is also a member of their Shakespeare Society and Jumpstart Performing Arts Academy. A current Metro Scholar at Two River Theater, Michael has been given the opportunity to learn how a professional theater works.
Lev Brewer (Pistol) is thrilled to be making his debut with A Little Shakespeare: The Merry Wives of Windsor at the Two River Theater. Previously Lev has performed in the role of “street urchin/ensemble” with the Premier Theatre Company’s production of Scrooge for the 2015 and 2014 seasons. Lev is currently a freshman at Red Bank Regional High School in the four year Drama Academy, where he is a member of the choir and the marching band. Lev is also studying to lead musical services at Monmouth Reform Temple where he is a member. Lev is passionate when it comes to theatre and music and is over the moon to be a part of this amazing cast and production.
Michael Buck (Dr. Caius) is thrilled to be appearing in his first Little Shakespeare production. He was recently seen as Gomez in The Addams Family and Judas in Godspell. He was also recently a member of Actors Playground outreach theater company's production of Bang Bang You're Dead (Josh). He hopes to be attending college in the fall majoring in theater and would like to thank the whole cast and crew for putting together this amazing show.
Ben Buckman (George Page) is a senior at Biotechnology High School. In his sophomore year, his first performance was in the BTHS show Annie as Man 1 & Man 2. He played Willy Wonka in the next year's production, Richard Hannay in The 39 Steps, and Lysander in A Midsummer Night's Dream at Spring Lake Theater. He is co-president of his school's Arts & Entertainment club and directs an all-male acapella group. He is honored to be featured in this year's production, and he would like to thank the cast, crew, and production team for all of their hard work. Break a leg!
Matthew Conkling (Abraham Slender) is thrilled to be debuting in his first Little Shakespeare production. Recent credits include Mary Poppins with Phoenix Productions, The Diviners with Howell High School Drama Club, and Grease with Spring Lake Theatre Company. Mistress Alice Ford
Kaylee DeFreitas (Mistress Alice Ford) is ecstatic to be returning to Two River Theater. In previous years, she has been featured in their productions of Little Shakes: Pericles as Thaisa/Antiochus/Gower and Little Shakes: A Midsummer Night's Dream as Egeus. Other roles include Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet, Roxie Hart in Chicago, Luella in The Diviners, and Sampson/First Guard in Romeo and Juliet. Abigail Devine (Robin) is thrilled to be performing in her first Two River Theater production! Abigail is a sophomore at Trinity Hall. Favorite credits include Benvolio in The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet and Otis in Suite Surrender. Sir John Falstaff
Christopher Ferrigine (Sir John Falstaff) is performing in his first high school performance; his previous acting experiences consist of three plays performed in middle school. He is a native of Red Bank and enjoys the multicultural events and opportunities the town offers. Chris is a senior and the Varsity Crew Captain at Christian Brothers Academy, where he has rowed since freshmen year. He hopes to continue his acting career in college whilst studying to be an engineer.
Shea Grant (Anne Page) is very excited to be a part of this year’s A Little Shakespeare: Merry Wives of Windsor. She attends Red Bank Regional High School and is a drama major. Some of her credits include Amadeus (Emperor Joseph the Second) at RBR, Lady Parts (Asha) at Playground Theater Project and Legally Blonde (Elle Woods) at RBRS. Shea was also recently featured in a National Geographic short film: Before Mars (Christine). She is extremely humbled to be working alongside so many talented people, and wants to thank Two River Theater for giving high school actors an opportunity to perform.
Marcos Guevara Jr
Marcos Guevara Jr (Robert Shallow) is thrilled to be a member of the Two River Theater’s Little Shakes: The Merry Wives of Windsor. This is his first role in a play outside of school theater productions. Marcos has been in several plays, including A Christmas Carol and Somewhere, Nowhere. He is currently attending Communications High School as a junior, and has been an active member of both the Drama and Radio Clubs.
Rebecca Madeira (Mistress Quickly) is so grateful to be a part of Little Shakes: Merry Wives at Two River Theater. She most recently appeared as Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Spring Lake Theatre, and past favorite roles include Ariel in The Little Mermaid, Brenda in Hairspray, and Apostle in Godspell at the Algonquin Arts Theatre. She is a student at Communications High School, where she also studies film and graphic design. 1 Thes 5:16-18
Kathryn Medrow (Nym) is elated to be making her Two River Theater debut! Favorite credits include Bonnie and Clyde, Alice in Wonderland, Annie, and dancing in The Nutcracker. When not engaged in histrionic activities, she can be found singing, playing the ukulele, napping, taking photos, or performing a myriad of experiments at Biotechnology High School. Dixie O'Connell (Peter Simple) is so excited to be returning for her second year performing in A Little Shakespeare. Dixie is a junior and drama major at Red Bank Regional High School. She also has been taking classes at Actors Playground School of Theatre since 2008. Dixie is currently a Metro Scholar at Two River Theater. Favorite credits include: Emily in Bang Bang You\'re Dead at NYC Fringe festival, Alice in Alice? at Appel Farm Arts Camp, Hero in Much Ado About Nothing at Red Bank Regional, Steph in Lady Parts at Actors Playground, and Simonidies/ Bawd/ Cerimon in Little Shakes: Pericles at Two River Theater. Dixie played Sandy in the NYU student film The Exploration of Cole as Led by the Prepubescent Sandy. She would like to thank the directors and staff at Two River for giving her this opportunity and for everything they do.
Max Portman (John Rugby) is very excited to be a part of the production. Recent credits include The Crucible with Red Bank Regional Theatre Company, and previously took part in the Two River Theatre production A Little Shakespeare: A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He also recently took part in Columbia College Hollywoods film production workshop over the summer where he wrote and directed a short film. Max is a member of the Visual/Performing Arts Academy at Red Bank Regional High School and is an avid fan of cinema and dogs.
Jose Rojas (Francis Ford) is happy to make his debut with Two River Theater. He was recently part of The Crucible at Red Bank Regional and played Francis Nurse. He has done 7 shows at Red Bank Regional. He has been coming to Two River since 7th grade and just recently interviewed Dr. Rechnitz with Project Write Now. He is a Metro Scholar Alumni and will continue to pursue his acting career in college.
Jolie Shave (Bardolph) is excited to take part in what will be her second performance at Two River Theater; she made her debut in A Little Shakespeare: A Midsummer Night's Dream in spring of her sophomore year. She has participated in nine shows total throughout her career at Holmdel High School, and is honored that her tenth and final performance before graduation will be with Two River. Jolie would like to send a special thank you out to Dana, Catherine, Hope, and Gaby who all forced her to audition for her first play in 8th grade which lead her discover something she will always love being a part of.
Isabel Wallace (Hostess) is ecstatic to be back for her fourth and final A Little Shakespeare production at Two River Theater. After tackling the roles of Marina in Pericles, Snug in A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Adam in As You Like It, she is thrilled to collaborate with this outstanding ensemble. Isabel is a senior at Biotechnology High School and codirects the school's musicals, plays, and choir. Isabel spends her studies at Stagedoor Manor and studies Shakespeare and stage combat there as well. Isabel is a proud member of the Class of 2021 at Dartmouth College and hopes to continue studying theater and biology for the rest of her life. Isabel would like to thank Kate Cordaro and Two River Theater for offering her endless support and providing her with the confidence and tools to accomplish every goal.
