MARION HUBER THEATER
Brandon J. Dirden (Your Blues Ain’t Sweet Like Mine, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and A Raisin in the Sun) returns to Two River to direct the riveting sequel to August Wilson’s Seven Guitars (which he directed on our stage in 2015). The year is 1985 and King Hedley II, Ruby’s son, returns from prison looking to rebuild his life, save some money, and start a family. King Hedley II grapples with how hope can spring from even the hardest of soil. This production marks a very important milestone, the halfway mark of Two River presenting all 10 of August Wilson’s American Century Cycle plays.
Tickets are just $15 and include:
- Convenient 10am performances(unless otherwise noted)
- Curriculum Guides to help teachers integrate our work on stage to their work done in the classroom
- A post-show Q & A with the actors
- For $3 more per person, we offer a 9:15am Pre-Show Workshop to further engage students with the production they are about to see.
