A host of Broadway favorites will populate Two River Theater‘s fall staging of Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Links, reimagined by Tony-winning director Darko Tresnjak (A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder). Performances of the world premiere, also directed by Tresnjak, are scheduled for September 13-October 5 in the Joan and Robert Rechnitz Theater in Red Bank, New Jersey.
The cast will include Tony nominee Kate Baldwin (Hello, Dolly!) as Madame Renauld, Maria Bilbao (Sweeney Todd) as Marthe Daubreuil, Hiram Delgado (Take Me Out) as Sergent de Ville, José Espinosa (Take Me Out) as Jack Renauld, Jason O’Connell as Commissary Lucien Bex, Campbell Scott (A Christmas Carol) as Hercule Poirot, and Tony nominee Lauren Worsham (A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder) as Madame Daubreuil as well as the voice of Tony nominee Patrick Page (Hadestown) as Paul Renauld.
Casting is by Caparelliotis Casting‘s David Caparelliotis and Joseph Gery.
The play follows Agatha Christie’s famed detective Hercule Poirot, who is summoned to a country chateau in France, where he discovers a body on the golf course with a knife in its back.
Christie’s mystery was first published in 1953. Steven Dietz previously penned a stage adaptation in 2021.
The creative team also includes scenic designer Alexander Dodge, costume designer Jess Goldstein, lighting designer Pablo Santiago, sound designer Megumi Katayama, music supervisor and composer Oran Eldor, wig, hair, and makeup designer J. Jared Janas, fight director Gerardo Rodriguez, and dialect coach Claudia Hill-Sparks.
The stage manager is Alison Cote, and the assistant stage manager is Mikayla Bettner.
