Red Bank Patch: Pride On The Plaza Returns To Two River Theater

by Pat McDaniel

RED BANK, N.J.— Two River Theater’s Pride on the Plaza celebration returns to the outdoor stage with performances by local drag royalty Lady Celestina, Demi Gawdess, and Morrigan Von Haunt on Friday, June 24, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Tickets are $10 and include a drag show (tipping appreciated) snacks and one complimentary beverage per person.

The Pride on the Plaza event series started in 2018, with featured performers from the drag scene and event partners helping to celebrate the LGBTQ community during Pride Month and every other month as well.

To book your ticket for Pride on the Plaza, visit Two River’s website or call 732-345-1400. The event is open to all ages; you must be 21 or over to consume alcoholic beverages. If you go inside the theater building, masks are required, organizers say.

Two River Theater produces a theatrical season that includes American and world classics, new plays and musicals, programs for young people, and festivals of new work. Each year, it also offers more than 40 events that reflect our diverse community of Red Bank.

Two River produces work on two stages—the 350-seat Rechnitz Theater, and the flexible 110-seat Marion Huber Theater. The theater’s recently opened Center for New Work, Education and Design is a three-story facility that includes two rehearsal studios, artist labs, classrooms, expanded shops and centrally located offices.

Two River serves thousands of students and community members through arts and humanities programs at the theater, in schools and throughout its region. The theater is led by Artistic Director John Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst.
