WHAT IS THEATERWORKS?
TheaterWorks is a grant-funded program that connects underserved students to the profound content of each production in our season, and highlights the diverse career opportunities that go into producing a professional play. Through pre-show workshops with various artists, students learn about topics like play writing, marketing, set construction, stage management, and fundraising from the professionals involved in each production.
WHO IS THE PROGRAM FOR?
Any school or community group with underserved students with an interest in a specific theatrical vocation, or in the content and themes of a show in the Two River season is welcome to apply to participate in TheaterWorks. Recent partners include Friends in Need Children’s Center, students from the Minority Males Initiative Conference, Monmouth County Scholarship Cotillion, and School Based Youth Services programs from Asbury Park, Red Bank Regional, and Long Branch High Schools.
WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM INCLUDE?
A TheaterWorks package includes a pre-show workshop, lunch, tickets to a Saturday matinee performance, and an exclusive post-show discussion with artists from the production. Submit your applications early as space is limited for each show.
