Alea and Sinuhé
Join us this summer for a series of outdoor performances on our newly renovated outdoor Plaza. Each evening will run about 75 minutes and feature performances by Two River Theater artists.
Alea’s music arrests you with authenticity. The Colombian singer brings music from Latin America, adds pop, jazz, urban afro indigenous beats, and breaks through the usual molds of what we define Latin music to be. Alongside brilliant performer Sinuhé Padilla-Isunza, they’ll deliver a high energy performance that travels through Latin America’s Cumbia, Vallenato, Ranchera, Jazz, and Pop, with that New York City edge.
Rain Policy: In the case of inclement weather, we will safely move the performance to our indoor lobby at a limited capacity. Indoors, all patrons must wear a mask at all times when not eating and drinking, while seated at their designated tables. Patrons with tickets, that are not comfortable sitting indoors will have the option to exchange their tickets into another performance, have a credit placed on their account, donate the cost of their tickets back to Two River Theater or receive a refund.

The Cast
ALEA
With a welcoming sound that embraces cumbia, vallenato, rancheras, jazz and American pop, the singer-songwriter Alea moves her audiences with messages of the spirit, calls for social change and free-flowing love. Originally from La Guajira, Colombia, Alea’s performance encompasses an entire generation of ethno-futuristic and folkloric music accentuated by buttery vocals, deep-rooted grooves and uplifting guitar. Alea’s in-person performances are powerful encounters of the spirit, passionate travelogues that link downtown New York to a tropical Colombian cantina. They are celebrations of Latin America and new definitions of what “Latin Alternative” can be. Her most recent album, 2021’s Alborotá, was shortlisted as among the Best Latin Music of the year by both Rolling Stone and NPR.
